After earning an MBA, Gary G. Gensler joined the Wall Streetinvestment bankGoldman Sachs, where he spent 18 years working up the ranks. At the age of 30, Gensler became one of the youngest persons to have made partner at the firm at the time. Prior to his public service career, Gensler's was the Co-head of Finance at Goldman Sachs.
Gensler served as the 11th chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission under President Barack Obama then became the Under Secretary of the Treasury for Domestic Finance and after that the Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Financial Markets.
