Ava Amini

Senior researcher at Microsoft Research in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Ava Amini's work has spanned the fields of machine learning, bioengineering, and cancer biology with an emphasis on developing new technologies for precision medicine. Ava finished her PhD in Biophysics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard University, where she collaborated with Sangeeta Bhatia at the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research and received funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship. She also teaches MIT Introduction to Deep Learning, the university's official introductory course in deep learning, and serves as the course's lead organizer. MIT awarded Ava a bachelor's degree in computer science and molecular biology.
